We came up with this cucumber and mint cleansing juice recipe whilst searching for a snack sort of juice, to be consumed in between meals (or juices if you’re on a juice fast). We were doing a cleansing day, so this was perfect.It’s very light and refreshing, and fast to put together. The juice ingredients are the following:
Cucumber and Mint Snack Juice
1 Cucumber
6-8 Mint stalks
1 Lime (peeled)
Ginger (about an inch)
Instructions: Just wash everything thoroughly and put through your juicer. Depending on the type of juicer you have (centrifugal, masticating or twin gear juicer) you might need to cut the ingredients into smaller pieces.
Cucumber is a favorite for juicers, because of its high levels of water and refreshing taste. But it’s also filled with health benefits. This vegetable is often used in cleansing juice recipe because of its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and detoxifying properties. It contains silica, which is a mineral that helps to keep skin well-nourished and hydrated.
Mint is a herb known for its medicinal and aromatic properties. It relieves the symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome, by relaxing muscles in the intestinal tract. it also inhibits the growth of several bacterias, and has anti-inflammatory properties. Lime is full of Vitamin C and is also an anti-septic food.
Finally, Ginger is a superfood bursting with health benefits. It’s anti-inflammatory, it can relief pain and soothe. Ginger is very effective against sea and motion sickness, being able to treat symptoms such as dizziness and vomiting. It can also help with nausea and aids in the absorption of nutrients in the digestive system.
