This juice is truly a Breakfast of Champions 🙂 We came up with it waking up one morning after a night of poor sleep… I blame it on the weather (the icelandic night “breeze” disturbing the curtains kept waking us). Regardless of what kept you from having a relaxing night of sleep, or even if you did have a good night of sleep, this recipe is just brilliant in the morning! After it, we felt ready-er to face the day.
We do have more recipes suitable for breakfast though, if you don’t fancy this one… Check out our Recipes for Juicers page! You can also get in touch with us if you want to submit your own recipes – just send us a line on Facebook or Google+.
These are the ingredients you’ll need:
Breakfast of Champions Juicer Recipe
2 red Apples
1 small Beetroot
2 Carrots
1/4 of Pineapple
1/4 Lemon
2 cm Ginger piece
1 Cucumber
Directions: Try to always bur organic for juicing please. If not, it could be necessary to peel the apple and the cucumber to get rid of toxines… We always peel the beetroot and the pineapple, to make it easier on our juicer, but you don’t really have to if you have a powerful juicer or if you don’t feel like it…
Apples, Cucumber and Pineapple all have good anti-inflammatory properties. Cucumber is also a great ingredient for cleansing and detoxifying. The Lemon is packed with Vitamin C, and is a great aid for the immune system.
And the Beets are just awesome. They are anti-cancer, antioxidant, detoxifying, immunity-boosting, a help the digestive system, good for the skin and the heart and even help to balance blood sugar! Personally, I think the beetroot tastes great… Kristján doesn’t agree, but he’ll juice it anyway. After all there’s no denying the beet’s awesomeness and this recipe’s gorgeousness. It’s one of the deepest shades of pink / red I have ever witnessed in a juice. Breathtaking 🙂
AND IF by google chance you ended up here looking for Kurt Vonnegut’s book Breakfast of Champions: A Novel, here it is! We are big fans… it’s a great book! Either, if you give a chance to this book or this juicer recipe you won’t regret 🙂
