We like to knock together a quick smoothie recipe in the mid afternoon, its like a quick fix for when you get a bit hungry and also helps you stock up on all sorts of goodness. We present this as a smoothie but we generally don’t make it very thick, you can of course control the thickness by the amount of fruit you put in against the amount of liquid.
This recipe can be amended and transformed by whatever fruits you have available at any given time, but a lasting foundation for us is a banana, some ginger and a handful of some frozen fruit for chilling it nicely and adding taste to boot. Below you will find our latest incarnation.
Delicious ginger banana smoothie recipe
(serves 2)1 banana
1 big apple
A piece of ginger root
Handful of frozen strawberries
Handful of frozen mango
We generally use apple juice as our added liquid but any sort of fruit juice will do and of course allow you to do endless variations on the smoothie. Sometimes I add a spoon of protein and sometimes I add a spoon of dried coconut – go nuts and enjoy the results!
